EXPRESS Settlement

Equisettle Express is a gateway to resolution for people who don't want the cost of a lawyer or the complexity of a law suit..

With Equisettle Express, the parties make offers and counter offers until a binding resolution is reached, ending the dispute. Once an offer is accepted by the parties, the paying party is directed to a payment gateway. When payment is securely made, a certificate of settlement is generated and distributed to the parties along with the funds. In the event the parties reach impasse, each is prompted to make a last, best offer. At this point, the matter is "eScalated" to an Equisettle Neutral who will choose one of the final offers based on the previous offers and documents submitted by the parties in the initial offer phase.


After the award is submitted to the parties, the paying party is directed to the payments gateway. Upon payment, a certificate of settlement is issued with the funds. In the event the paying party refuses to pay and thus end the dispute, an arbitral award will be issued to both parties. The party to be paid can then have the award certified by the court and turned into a judgment.

 Notify The Other Party

Equisettle sends an email, SMS/tex to the parties, inviting them to settle or negotiate online. The invitation can also be sent by mail.

Negotiate

You and the other party have 3 chances to accept or deny exchanged offers. Both parties have the option to upload documents, photos and video to support their position.

 Settle

If both parties agree on a settlement, the paying party is directed to a payment link. Both parties will receive a copy of the negotiated agreement, ending the dispute.

If the parties reach impasse, they will be directed to make a best and final offer. An Equisettle neutral will choose one of the final offers based on a review of the negotiation.

End The Dispute

After the Neutral issues the award, both parties are notified. The paying party is directed to a payment link. If payment is not received, the non-paying party receives a copy of the award to be certified in a court of competent jurisdiction.

  • How will payment end the dispute?

    When the parties to a dispute agree on a resolution and the conditions of the resolution are met, the dispute is resolved. In Express, the dispute is redced to a dollar amount. Once the payment is made and the parties sign the certificate of setlement, the dispute and all of its surronding issues are resolved for good. If either party claims in the future that the issue remains unresolved, the other party has the defence of Accord and Satisfaction evidenced by the certificate of settlement.

  • Is this legal?

    Equisettle is an online, alternative dispute resolution platform. The parties consent to the terms and conditions of the ADR (alternative dispute resolution)process used on the platform is incorperated in the certificate of settlement.  The agreements reached by the parties are enforced under the laws of contracts.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

    Equisettle is a Stripe Connect client. The platform uses Stripe for subscription payments, cllient payments and payments made between clients.

  • Can I get a full refund?

    Once a plan has been purchased, no refund is available. You may cancel at any time prior to your plans renewal date. Cancelation will not result in refunds for pre-paid or annual plans. You may continue to use the pre-purchased services up untill the expireation date of teh plan. Any services initiated before the plan expires will be honored even in the event youdo not to renew.

  • What is Final Offer Arbitration?

    In final offer arbitration, the parties consent to making a final and best offer in the event of impasse. An Equisettle Neutral is then assigned the file, the neutral will review the offers and submissions of the parties made durring the negotiation phase along with the final offers. The neutral will then choose one of the final offers and issue her award.
